This resource calls for the Ontario government and law enforcement to end the ESA's monopoly, cut fees across the board.

Limit its absolute power. Investigate and stop the alleged criminal abuse of that power and unjust self-enrichment.

Expose fundamental flaws that deteriorate safety causing more accidents, fires, and fatalities.

We need pro-contractor fighters and electrician defenders inside the Electrical Safety Authority

Did you ask the ESA to do or change something and they did not?

Did you file a complaint or send a request?

Did the ESA treat you unfairly, overcharge or abuse you?

Did you try to fight them? And what happened?

Did you participate in a contractor survey conducted by the ESA?

Did you raise a serious concern at the ECRA/ESA Licence Holder Meeting? Was it ignored or simply dismissed? Or did you get an evasive answer?

Did they reply to your feedback, complaint or request?

or

Has the ESA implemented your suggestion or satisfied a complaint?

(ISB)

Do you think that today the ESA acts as a lawmaker, investigator, enforcer, prosecutor and a judge, etc. all in one? On top of that, does the ESA abuse its power? Do you think that today the overwhelming might, absolute control and misuse thereof are the clear signs of a dictatorial behaviour of a monopoly?

Do you think that electrical workers need a powerful representative, a defender inside the ESA? Do we need a strong body with real power to fight for our interests inside ESA? Or a well organized and prepared bunch of peers, people like you and me to become an adequate defender, challenger and equalizer?

So let's create our own Independent Supervisory Body (ISB), absolutely free of ESA's puppets and comprised of residential sector's rank and file workers and end customers. Give it a decisive power to guide, control, investigate, and audit ESA.

Large contractors already have ECAO. But our interests are different and underrepresented.

Let's fight for the ordinary workers, LECs and end customers' right to have a proportional number of ISB representatives at any hearing, panel, court or appeal. Everyone must always have the right to adequately defend himself at any time and place.

ISB representatives, LECs and witnesses from the small repair and mid-size residential renovation sector should always have the same rights, weight, power, and compensation as the representatives from ESA.

Do you think that to implement this and other anti-monopolistic measures, the ESA must fire the current CEO, half of the senior management, hire a new corporate turnaround and restructuring CEO? And include a significant number of small electrical contractors, ESA critics, opponents and ISB representatives into ECRA, CoAC, ESA board, and senior management.

Small residential electrical contractors, did you try to contact members of the Electrical Contractors Registration Agency (ECRA), ECAO and/or the Contractor Advisory Council (CoAC) with a question, comment or concern? Did the ECAO, ECRA and/or CoAC discuss your matter or complaint with ESA representatives and notify you of the outcome? Did they try to push your point or to protect your interest before the ESA?

ECRA should be neutral and represent interests of the ESA, public and electrical contractors. Did you deal with this entity? Was ECRA objective and neutral in your particular case?

ECAO and CoAC are supposed to be more on the side of contractors representing and protecting their rights and interests. Were they?

What is your opinion about the Contractor Advisory Council? Are they pro-contractor fighters and electricians' defenders or something else?

The ESA must be split in three or more independent companies.

One authority issues licenses. Another entity inspects the work. Yet another deals with other issues not related to contractor licensing and inspections.

Do you think that today ESA's complete power leads to abuse of that power?

Small self-employed electrical contractors are absolutely defenseless against such overwhelming force. Most of us would not contest or appeal abuse or overcharge fearing losing the license. Sole operators would not battle unjust treatment to avoid prejudiced inspections in the future.

The common knowledge among electrical contractors is that it is not possible to pass a single inspection if an inspector is biased against you. And ESA can very easily and legally push you out of work and out of trade. You will lose the source of income.

That's why there must be a body (ISB) made of the small self-employed electrical workers, independent from the ESA. It should become the ultimate decision making entity superseding power of the ESA with regards to fees, fines and licensing issues of this particular sector.

And ESA must pay the ISB representatives for restoring the balance and fairness. It should be the same rate as if they were ESA employees or executives.

Small electrical contractors with five employees or less comprise 80% or more of all ECs and are NOT equally represented or are underrepresented in both ECRA and CoAC. Do you think it is time to have at least 60% or more of dedicated pro-small-contractor fighters in ECAO, ECRA, CoAC and ESA management?

or

Do you think ESA's senior managers and top executives are parasites? Is it time to end up their absolute rule? Should we have rank and file audacious defenders in the ESA senior management?

Small electrical contractors should take and share the same authority inside the ESA as their senior management and the board of directors.

We should fight for this together and fight really hard!

Tell the ESA what you think ESA.Cambridge@electricalsafety.on.ca

Tell your MPP.

Email the Minister directly Ms. Lisa M Thompson. Or visit web site of the Minister of Government and Consumer Services, who is accountable for the ESA activities.

Or do you have your own story of abuse, neglect, unfair treatment, overcharge, etc. to share publicly? Join us in a class action if you think they are parasites and sue them together with us!

When a bunch of abused folks speaks out, nothing happens.

If there are hundred or thousand of us, we will prevail and restore the justice, common sense and fairness!

Your voice is an extremely powerful tool. But only if it is used and heard.

So, do you think we should collect signatures and petition the ESA?

Or should we hold a referendum and simply order ESA to do what is right, fair and just?

ESA will never give up fantastic salaries and huge benefits until we refuse to be their cash cows. They will milk us all dry if YOU and I don't stop them in court. So how committed are you to winning?

Use full name, real or not. No links unless devoted to fighting ESA.

If emailing evidence of overcharge, abuse, or crime, clearly state whether we can make your name and material public.

Otherwise we will keep all your contact and personal information strictly confidential and unknown to the ESA. Courts will give you absolute immunity, witness protection, and concealed identity in advance. ESA will never know who you are and won't be able to retaliate.
