This resource calls for the Ontario government and law enforcement to end the ESA's monopoly, cut fees across the board.

Limit its absolute power. Investigate and stop the alleged criminal abuse of that power and unjust self-enrichment.

Expose fundamental flaws that deteriorate safety causing more accidents, fires, and fatalities.

Millions of illegal DIY jobs that ESA knows about but ignores

On one hand ESA acknowledges that every year tens of millions of light fixtures, plugs, and switches are sold at retail outlets throughout Ontario to homeowners. Then they are installed by DIY audience without being inspected.

On another hand:
  • ESA does not emphasize this humongous problem of a huge number of electrical jobs being done by the clueless homeowners and handymen without mandatory inspections.
  • ESA does not sound an alarm and does not declare a state of emergency.
  • ESA does nothing to fix this, or whatever it does is not working, or the ESA is incapable to deal with this safety problem.

ESA does not enforce the law on millions of illegal DIY and handymen jobs!

And their reasoning of no evidence of fatalities, serious injuries or fires and low risk does not stand up to the statistical scrutiny.

Sometimes a clueless homeowner installs a 15 Amp plug on a 30 Amp or 40 Amp circuit. Simply because he/she does not know if it is a low risk or not.

Over-fusing or replacing a frequently blowing 15 Amp with a 30 Amp fuse is one of the millions of those simple replacement jobs that could be done in 30 seconds. But over-fusing and some other simple DIY jobs are outright hazardous. They are deadly because ESA allows DIYers to do electrical work. And because homeowners logically think, if permitted, it can not be dangerous.

Conclusion. A negligible, lowest, low, moderate, or high safety risk exists in every small DIY job. And until homeowners are allowed to do electrical work in millions of Ontario homes, those homes will continue to burn and people die. Accident, fire, injury, or death becomes a statistically inevitable and guaranteed event.

And the Electrical Safety Authority is directly responsible for that. All the abused and overcharged electrical workers and people who lost their homes to fire, got hurt or killed, let's sue ESA together for failure to do their job.

ESA must ban everybody who is not qualified and not licensed to do electrical work in Ontario!

Change the law and assign the highest risk level to the un-inspected DIY electrical work.

If you are not qualified
Don't do electrical work. Electricity kills
A simple mistake will burn your family alive!

ESA will never give up fantastic salaries and huge benefits until we refuse to be their cash cows. They will milk us all dry if YOU and I don't stop them in court. So how committed are you to winning?
